Biographies of Key Leaders

President

DARRYLL G. DeCotis, Sr., CPP®, is the Town of Navassa (NC) Chief of Police. He is a US Marine Corps veteran and served as a Military Policeman in several different duty stations including abroad. Darryll has an extensive background in law enforcement as well as corporate security, including Cary Police and in the financial industry with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. He is General & Specialized (Firearms) Law Enforcement Instructor, recipient of the Traffic Enforcement & Investigation Certificate from the North Carolina Justice Academy, and he also holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification from North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. He holds a master’s degree from Boston University in Criminal Justice. Darryll is board certified in security management and he wholeheartedly believes that the good you do today might get quickly forgotten but the impact of what you do will never disappear.

Treasurer

WOODY MALONE, is the U.S. Army Forces Command Security Division Chief at Fort Bragg, NC. He is a US Army retiree and served as a Military Policeman, including service in Iraq for Operation DESERT STORM. Woody has an extensive background in law enforcement as well as Department of Defense security. He holds a master’s degree In security management from Bellevue University. Woody is board certified by DoD in security asset protection and physical security.

Vice President

DENNIS HARRISON, CPP®, is the President of Five Star Global Security, and also serves the U.S. Nuclear Industry with Allied Universal Security as a Director of the National Composite Adversary Force (Red Team).  He is a 30-year Army veteran with 18 years in Special Forces assignments, including multiple combat rotations in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.  Dennis holds a graduate degree from Webster University in Business and Organizational Security Management and maintains the CPTED Professional Designation (CPD). Dennis has served the Greater Fayetteville Chapter on multiple occasions as the Chapter Secretary and has served as the Assistant Regional Vice President (ARVP) for Region 4B.

Treasurer

TREASURER:  DANIEL BRAND, CPP®.  Retired Army CW5 and civil servant from the U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC. He served as a Military Intelligence technician, and has an extensive background in intelligence operations as well as Department of Defense security. He holds a master’s degree in Security Management from Webster University.  He is a board certified CPP®.  Dan is a past Chapter 159 Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Webmaster.  He is a Lifetime CPP and ASIS International member (retired).
